What are your current musical influences?
At the moment I am listening to Melody Gardot, Lauren Pritchard and Adele.

What do you think of the current chart music?
I like Will Young’s new album it’s very heartbreaking. I also liked some of Barry Manilow’s new songs especially “It’s gonna be alright”.

What do you think of the Xfactor generation do you think it’s a good way for musicians to get into the music business?
I suppose it is and it isn’t it all depends on whether they become successful or not. I would never do it myself.

Do you think live performances are a good way to become famous?
In a way it is and it isn’t. I am on Reverbnation and currently number 10 in the Cardiff Pop Charts and that is by people listening to my music online and buying my music online.

How do you start writing a song?
I wake up in the middle of the night with lyrics or music in my head usually.

Are you thinking about your second album?
Yes I am it’s going to be totally different to the first one that’s all I am saying.

Your recent song “don’t look back” is your most personal to date is there a story behind the song?
Yes there is it’s a very personal song about someone I knew.

What do you think about the power of the internet in promoting your songs?
It’s fab I get more and more fans every day purchasing my music and commenting.

Pembrokeshire

Here are some photos of some Pembrokeshire scenery along the West coastline of Wales. First of all we have St Davids which is famously known for it’s Cathedral. St Davids is the smallest city in Britain which lies on the River Alun and is named after the patron saint.

Solva is a small village close to St Davids. The village has many shops, restaurants, holiday bed and breakfasts and a harbor. It is known to have a duck charity race every Easter.

Below are my photos of St Davids and Solva

Bron-Yr-Aur Led Zeppelin

I recently went to visit Bron-Yr-Aur which was the property where the band Led Zeppelin used to get together to record and compose. Bron-Yr-Aur is situated about an hour from Aberystwyth. It’s quite tricky to get to as it’s situated up a steep hill but when you get to the top the views are stunning. The house is now privately owned by a vicar and his wife who has no interest in the band and doesn’t like people stepping foot on his property. Apparently there is a photo of the band inside the house but no-one has ever seen it as well as a recorded tape which has been missing near the property. Below is some information from WikiPedia regarding Bron-Yr-Aur.

The cottage was used by the family of Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant during the 1950s as a holiday home. In 1970, Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page spent time there after a long and gruelling concert tour of North America. Though the cottage had no running water or electricity, they used it as a retreat to write and record some of their third album, Led Zeppelin III. At the cottage during this time were Plant’s wife Maureen and 18-month-old daughter Carmen, Page’s girlfriend Charlotte Martin, and Led Zeppelin roadies Clive Coulson and Sandy MacGregor. Led Zeppelin used the name of the house in the title of their songs: “Bron-Y-Aur Stomp” (the name of the house being accidentally misspelled on the album cover), and “Bron-Yr-Aur”. “Bron-Y-Aur Stomp” is a country music inflected hoedown on Led Zeppelin III, in which Robert Plant waxes lyrical about walking in the woods with Strider, his blue eyed merle dog. Contrastingly, “Bron-Yr-Aur” is a gentle, acoustic instrumental by Page on the six-string guitar, which appeared on the later album Physical Graffiti and in the film The Song Remains the Same. “Bron-Y-Aur” is also the name of the secret instrumental track at the end of Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, the third album from Coheed and Cambria. The track has a similar sound to the Led Zeppelin song of the same title.

Here is a live video of Led Zeppelin playing live in Earl’s Court

Below are some photos that I took with my camera. Please note that since recent people have bought the property that’s as close a view as you can get of the house.
